A few words about ordering for your SU equipped classic.
Since most SUs are now in their 30's to 50's (years old) quite a few have
undergone some modification, the most popular of which is having the air filter mounting holes
threaded. Many relatively late carbs came from the factory with the holes threaded - usually in
both modified and factory carbs - the threads are 5/16-18 although we have seen several other
thread sizes used. The condition of these holes should be specified so we can provide hardware
that matches the existing mountings.
Breather tubes (crankcase ventilation tubes) are also very application specific and in some older
cars are not used at all, so the need for, and location of these should also be specified.
